American travelers always love Guanajuato

Second Day: Sightseeing on the city tour this morning. This important rail center has a stately grace that is a reminder of its prosperous silver mining past. Buildings are dark red brick with classic styles and adornments, an unexpected elegance in what was once the isolated northern provinces. You'll visit the Governor's Palace, the Cathedral, and Teatro de La Paz, with a similar ambience of Victorian cities in Europe. Arrive mid-afternoon at San Miguel de Allende.  Settle into your new home for the next few days, Hotel Atascadero, surrounded by flower gardens. There will be an orientation by your Tour Conductor to get you pointed in the right direction. Have fun selecting your own restaurant for dinner. They are all great!
Breakfast Included.

Third Day: History, art and poetry seem to be part of every dwelling.  Visit the library established by north American residents (they also created one for Spanish-speaking readers.) Stroll through the city market, the sidewalk vendor market and visit some starving artist galleries. You'll notice adult students at the language institutes practicing their new Spanish language skills seated under graceful arches among flowers You can pick up a schedule for future information in case you are tempted to "jump bus." Nature lovers can find birding and nature paths. Every one can enjoy the gentle evenings of this beautiful village.
Breakfast Included.

Fourth Day: Today, join your group for a tour of nearby Guanajuato, a city as pretty as San Miguel. It's enchanting, twisting, lanes and old-fashioned street lights are very much like towns in Spain. Also visit Dolores Hidalgo, where Father Hidalgo ignited the sparks of independence. Spend some colorful moments at one of the many tile and pottery workshops and marvel at such beauty emerging from terra cotta earth. It seems like every citizen is engaged in artistic creations, elegant, amazing, astounding and odd! Return to San Miguel for an evening walk through softly-lighted streets. Peek into art galleries, charming patio restaurants or explore temption real estate possibilities.
Breakfast Included.

Fifth Day: Board your motorcoach for the ride to Saltillo for an over-night at elegant Camino Real Hotel, a beautiful retreat on a hill. Sightseeing in Saltillo before departing for Monterrey.
Breakfast Included.

Sixth Day:   Take a different route for the last leg of the trip through Monterrey. You'll tour the city, seeing the Gran Plaza, one of the largest city squares in the world, the pretty Cathedral of Monterrey and the elegant Government Palace. Arrive in the Rio Grande Valley.
Breakfast Included.

Visitors have been drawn here since the forties. Cobblestone streets and 17th century houses are an inspiration for artists and writers who have fallen in love with the place and stayed. The town has been declared a national monument; all new construction has to be harmonious with the old. This tour also visits Guanajuato with its Spanish colonial splendor.Contented foreign residents read or sketch in the plaza in the shadow of the magnificent Gothic-style church. Students of all ages study Spanish and handicrafts. Quaint shops, cafes, gardens and fountains are so engaging you will find yourself using up rolls of film trying to capture the beauty. Make yourself at home!

First Day:  Depart the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, clearing customs in Reynosa. Ride through purple sage country toward the mountains that surround Ciudad Victoria. After a lunch stop, enjoy ever-changing scenery through unspoiled soft mountains. Arrive at San Luis Potosi, and spend the night at fashionable Hotel Panorama in the heart of town.
